Radical Shift in Thinking to Finally Get What You Want!

Radical Shift:  "focus on what you have, instead of what you don't!"

I know it sounds simple, but I would like to invite you to really stop for a moment and think about an area of your life where you are not 100% happy…

What do you complain about? Is it your home? Your job? Your relationships or your body?? Whatever "it" is, take a moment to STOP and then SHIFT.

The last few weeks of the year I was housesitting for a friend in Seattle and finally came back home this weekend. As I was thinking about coming back I felt a heaviness around it, I really didn't want to go home because in my mind it isn't the home I envision for myself… You see, I am use to living abroad and mostly alone, and I am an independent lioness who likes my space to roam free and definitely needs her quiet time to rest and rejuvenate. After my fifteen journey around the world I moved back to the Pacific Northwest because I love it, I felt called to come back and I wanted to be close to family once again. I moved to beautiful Whidbey Island to be close to my mom, my sister and my adorable baby niece. And since moving back I have expended my resources injecting it into building my business and taking further education courses like the one I took at Harvard medical on Mind-Body Medicine. So at the moment, being home is both where I want to be and where I need to be in order for me to fulfill my purpose and stay on course to building a life where I can be of greatest service to others…

When I came home Saturday night I spent time getting settled in and felt a little irritation around things not being exactly as I would like them to be. But as I woke up Sunday morning and gazed out to the two windows I have at the back of my room that look out into the forest and frame the beautiful working space I have, I thought to myself, "wow, I am so blessed to be able to wake up and see those majestic trees every morning"… I looked around and saw the blessings that surround me and felt immense gratitude for simply being in this space. And even though the gift and opportunity has always been in my consciousness awareness and I am extremely grateful; I was slipping into a state of mind that just didn't feel good. I was looking around at "what it wasn't" instead of "what it was".  And if I am honest with myself I can see where I do that not only with my home, but also in relationships and with many things in life, even body image.

When we walk a spiritual path there are always so many wonderful teachings "we know", and yet it takes time or a subtle awakening like the one I had on Sunday morning to actually shift our perspective and integrate the gift of the teaching. So even if "you know" that it makes so much more sense to look at life and see what you have instead of what you don't, I would like to invite you take a deeper look at where this mentality might be sneaking its way into your life.

Try this out with me and see what happens... stop thinking about what isn't quite right, what is lacking or what is bothering you about someone or something in your life, or what you think someone needs to change in order for you to feel good…

Instead SHIFT your perspective to see what you DO have.

What are the good things about your home, job, relationship or body? Make a list of the areas in your life you find yourself complaining about and next to the area write down everything positive about it.

If you wish you had more space at home and want desperately to move, think about this instead: look around you and see just how blessed you are to actually have a roof over your head and walls within which you live to keep you warm and safe… What if you didn't even have that? What then? And if its your car you wish was different… well, does it get from A to B safely?? A lot of people probably wish they had a car to drive and money to put gas in it… What about your body? What don't you love about your body? What do you wish was different?? Well, how about instead SHIFTING to think about all the wondrous ways in which your body does work and function incredibly…are you walking, talking, living? What about your job?? Aren't happy with your job? Does it pay the bills? Does it provide for you?

Apply this simple SHIFT technique to ANY and ALL areas of your life where you are feeling dissatisfied… It can quickly help you shift from seeing "what you don't have" to "what you do". We are energy beings and our thoughts greatly effect our energy. When you shift to seeing what you do have, you move from a energy of lack and not enough to an energy of abundance and gratitude… And once you shift to abundance and gratitude, life will only keep bringing you more things to feel abundant and grateful for!

So join me in SHIFTING perspectives in any area of your life that needs it. Set an intention to remember this technique any time you catch yourself complaining or seeing your glass as "half empty"… quickly and effortlessly shift into a more positive state of mind. One that embraces gratitude and resides in "there is enough".

Begin to live your life from "enoughness" and watch your reality TRANSFORM!

Sending you Love, Blessings & GRATITUDE for being here with me!

Heather
