Faith Is Taking The First Step

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase."  #divineinspiration #mindbodybeing #radicalselfcare #imsayingyestome

When I was 18 years old I had an "awakening" that tuned me into a deep inner knowing of where I was suppose to go and what steps to take next.  There wasn't a special training I went through or formula I learned, I didn't read a book about it or hire a coach to teach me...  It was through intense trials and trauma in my life that I knew there had to be a better way.  Instinctively I knew that my life was destined for greatness and that my life experiences were there to teach and guide me to be able to be of Service to others and help them on their own journey through life.

Tuning into my own inner wisdom and having enough faith to simply take the next step has guided me to live in various countries around the world; learn another language fluently, connect with teachers and mentors that would deepen my own healing and guide me to lead others to theirs, get hired into top executive positions in my industry straight out of the gate, create internationally known holistic healing concepts for luxury spas and eventually move back to the United States after a fifteen year journey of following that little voice within.  My inner wisdom and faith continues to inspire me and guide me to where I am suppose to be, who I am suppose to meet and how I am being called to Serve.

And even though I have been guided by faith for many years I still need a reminder to slow down and breathe, and take one step at a time...

Being such a strong visionary I can see the "big picture" and highest potential or evolution of a project or person on their path.  I can easily do this with the projects I am working on, unfortunately when it comes to my own stuff it tends to put me into a state of overwhelm.

My deepest desire is to be of service and help to transform the pain and suffering of this world. There are many ways in which that can be expressed and I am constantly envisioning new branches of that desire.  Because I have so many ideas and so many ways in which I feel called to be of service, I tend to take on too much at once and struggle with a feeling of overwhelm in the midst of creation.

Last week was my 36th birthday and I decided to totally unplug and be out in nature and spend the week with an amazing man who has won my heart.  On the day of my birthday we went on a 9 mile hike that had an initial deep descend and then a steep ascend to the peak of a mountain surrounded by glaciers, Heather meadows and an ice covered lake.

We both set an intention for the hike.  My intention was to focus on the present moment, looking only to the "next step" and not think about what grueling task might lie ahead.  I used the hike to move through any resistance or fears I have about stepping into my power in my business and my life.  When I caught myself thinking about the steep ascend ahead I would stop, take a deep breath and focus back on where I was in that moment...  Each time I did I was able to enjoy the most incredible views and take in the beauty that was around me.

When I came back from my week of being totally unplugged I quickly felt a familiar wave of overwhelm wash over me...  So instead of allowing it to take me in, I stopped, took a deep breath and refocused back on the present and only the very next step.  It takes practice to allow yourself to be guided by faith and even if you have a vision of where you are headed, to release any attachment to the outcome and trust that you will be guided to take the next step.
